ADHD, ODD, ASD, behavioural disorders, Specific Learning Disorder (SLD), sleep problems, faltering growth, nutritional and feeding difficulties in early childhood, neonatal issues, GORD, constipation, asthma, and food allergies.
Dr Sharma has extensive experience over 40 years working across public and private sectors in general paediatrics, neonatology and behavioural and developmental paediatrics. He is skilled in seeing all children from birth through to adolescence and is dedicated to providing your child with the comprehensive paediatric care they deserve.​

Dr. Sharma has been working as a private Paediatrician since 2013 and until 2020 he had been working for WA Health and WA Country Health Services across a variety of roles including senior consultant in Paediatrics, Head of Department of Paediatrics and Associate Consultant at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, WA.

Outside of his clinical practice, Dr Sharma is also passionate about medical education and is affiliated with the UWA Medical School, Discipline of Paediatrics, University of Western Australia as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and he is an examiner for the Australian Medical Council (AMC). Dr Sharma is also a member of the Australasian Society for Developmental Paediatrics, Australia and ADHD WA, Australia.

Dr Sharma is a proud husband, father and grandfather, and he will be making the move to NSW to be closer to his family. Dr Sharma has committed decades to the care of children as a paediatrician and we are delighted that he will be bringing years of expertise to his new practice at Beecroft Village Medical - Specialist Centre.

Dr Gurubhaskar (Bhaskar) Shivakumar graduated with his MBBS from the University of Western Sydney in 2014 and earned his Fellowship with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2022. He completed his basic psychiatric training across major teaching hospitals in VIC, where he also completed his Masters of Psychiatry at The University of Melbourne. Following his return to Sydney, he completed his advanced training in Consultation-Liaison
Psychiatry at Sydney Local Health District services.

Bhaskar currently undertakes his substantial clinical duties as a Staff Specialist at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital, where he previously served as the Unit Director for the inpatient psychiatric ward. He also serves as a psychiatrist member for NSW's Mental Health Review Tribunal. He has a keen interest in teaching medical students, and holds a Clinical Lecturer position with The University of Sydney.

Alongside his clinical interest in the relationships between body, brain, and mind, Bhaskar has a special interest in working alongside adult patients, their family and carers to assist in the diagnosis, collaborative management, and follow-up of patients. Bhaskar is committed to providing patients with agency, evidence-based options for care, and a supportive environment in order to best pursue their pathways to recovery.
